Waitrose, Tesco and Aldi share ‘important safety warning’ with UK shoppers

Supermarkets (and furniture stores) across the UK are recalling a range of popular food products, with customers being warned of possible health risks.

Ikea, Tesco, Co-op and Iceland are among supermarkets urging customers not to eat store-bought food and to return it to the point of sale.

Food allergies, improper packaging and choking hazards are among the reasons for a number of Product recalls.

waitrose

Waitrose is recalling Waitrose & Partners Green Pesto with Basil because salmonella has been found in the product.

An “Important Safety Notice” has been posted at all retail stores selling the product.

Pork Snaffling Pork Scratches

Snaffling Pig is recalling its perfectly salted pork scrapings after salmonella was found in the product.

The popular salty snack is being recalled by Snaffling Pig because salmonella has been found in the product.

Salmonella infection usually causes diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Symptoms can begin six hours to six days after infection and can last up to a week.

Point-of-sale notices will be posted at all retail stores that carry the product, detailing advice on what to do if they have purchased the product.

Waitrose is recalling Waitrose Prosciutto Cappelletti and Waitrose Essentials Cheese and Smoked Ham Tortelloni due to the undeclared presence of pistachios (nuts).

This means that the products pose a potential health risk to anyone with a pistachio (nut) allergy.

Holland and Barrett

Holland & Barrette recalls its range of sesame seeds amid fears of salmonella.

The big chain is recalling its Holland and Barrett hulled sesame seeds because salmonella was found in the product.

Morrison has issued an urgent recall over its own brand chocolate-covered ice cream amid health fears.

Amour Classic Vanilla Ice Cream is being recalled over concerns that it contains pieces of plastic.

The Food Standards Agency issued the health warning for the dairy product stating that “the possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe for consumption”.
