Silkamino Drunk Elephant Leave-In Conditioning Milk Review
We’ve all had those days when your hair doesn’t listen to you. It does the exact opposite of what you want. I’ve realized that using the right leave-in conditioner can dramatically help the way my hair cooperates when going from wet to dry. Just as a hydrated foundation or a good primer can make all the difference in flawless makeup application, a good leave-in conditioner prepares your hair for your styling needs, whether it’s a 90s blowout or effortless beach waves. It can really make or break the look and feel of your hair and even impact how easy it is to style and manage. Drunk Elephant is releasing a new leave-in conditioner that’s supposed to deeply hydrate, strengthen and smooth your hair while maintaining movement and volume.
Silkamino Conditioning Leave-In Milk ($32) is a multitasking product that combines the best parts of a leave-in conditioner, styling milk, and heat protectant. It’s supposed to deeply hydrate, strengthen and protect hair, and smooth it for a silky smooth feel, and it doesn’t disappoint. It contains amino acids and silk proteins, Abyssinian Oil, Argan Oil and Marula Oil for hydrated, manageable ends and a shiny, frizz-free finish. I had the chance to test it first hand, and it’s worth every penny.
How I use Silkamino Drunk Elephant Leave-In Conditioning Milk
The leave-in has a creamy, jelly-like texture that feels thick at first, but gets lightweight and absorbs quickly when I distribute it through my damp, towel-dried hair. It has a light, sweet, vanilla scent, but it’s not overpowering; you can barely notice it. I use about a quarter-size amount for my hair, concentrating on the ends and slowly working up to the roots. Since Silkamino Conditioning Leave-In Milk absorbs quickly and deeply hydrates, I add a smaller amount specifically to my scalp. My scalp tends to get dry and flaky, especially when I heat or dry my hair. It helps retain moisture in my scalp; I feel like I put a light moisturizer or hyaluronic acid on my scalp. However, the leave-in conditioner isn’t heavy or greasy, nor does it really affect the volume of my roots. I even use a tiny bit on my dry hair to tame my flyaways and replenish and hydrate my ends on days two and three.
How Drunk Elephant Silkamino Conditioning Leave-In Milk Works
As I combed my hair with my fingers distributing the product evenly, I noticed that the leave-in did a pretty good job of detangling and retaining moisture in my hair. While drying my hair, I encountered no hitches. My hair felt instantly conditioned and soft; each piece just slipped through my hands and brush. The drying process was a breeze. My hair came out soft and silky with no frizz and a shiny finish. The only place I used a flat iron was to style my bangs. The Silkamino Leave-In Conditioning Milk even helped my hair stay frizz-free during the summer heat. The photo above was taken about five hours after styling and after I was outside in average 70 degree weather for two hours.
The Drunk Elephant Silkamino Conditioning Leave-In Milk instantly became a staple in my haircare routine. With this leave-in treatment, my hair listens to me; it’s so easy to manage. It flips and sets just the way I want while decreasing frizz. My hair stays detangled and silky for days. It deeply conditions and adds moisture to my hair, but it doesn’t affect volume and movement; he feels weightless. I love that it is so versatile and multifunctional. I highly recommend Silkamino Leave-In Conditioning Milk to everyone, especially those with the driest ends or damaged hair, whether from coloring or heat styling. Leave-in conditioner makes your hair more manageable for easy styling, and it feels softer and silkier than ever. You can buy the product, as well as the new Silkamino Mega Hydrating Shampoo and the new Silkamino Mega Hydrating Mask June 12.
