Cargill carries out a key operation for the Léman decoration group based in Belgium
Cargill has achieved a key gastronomic expansion transaction by acquiring Leman Decoration Group, a Belgian specialist in cake decorating and chocolate printing, reports Neill Barston.
The decision of the company, which is widely engaged in the bakery, craft and catering markets, would significantly strengthen the presence of the global agribusiness in the segment.
As a result, Cargill said the deal – the financial terms of which were not disclosed – will allow it to better serve its cocoa and chocolate customers in Europe and around the world.
It follows previous developments by the company, including its acquisition in 2019 of Smet, a leading Belgian supplier of chocolate and candy decorations. In January of this year, Cargill also expanded its gourmet production facility in Kalmthout, Belgium, and then added iconic origins to its line of Veliche couverture chocolates.
